Badyn Woodford

"Music can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable." —Leonard Bernstein

The Basics of Badyn

While he grew up in St. Clairsville, OH, Badyn is presently based in Morgantown, WV, as he works towards his undergraduate degree at West Virginia University.

His modern style of performance shows a new era of “classical” music can exist, and that the rules can be bent a little bit. Nothing like an extra chord here or there to spice something up like a bottle of Frank’s Red Hot. Of course, the classics of Shostakovich, Brahms, Bach, Böellmann, and many more are absolute staples.

Make it stand out, every time.

Every performance I do, every rehearsal I painstakingly sit through, I strive to make sure it stands out from among the crowd of other musicians doing the same thing. I push to go that one step above the grade, to break the boundaries. To make it stand out — every time.

“To study music, we must learn the rules. To create music, we must break them.”

— Nadia Boulanger
